Kinetics of the gas-liquid reaction between carbon dioxide and hydroxide ions
Gas-liquid reaction kinetics of the reactions between carbon dioxide and hydroxide ions is obtained via dynamic experiments in a stirred cell reactor. The evaluation of experiments is performed using a new technique enabling experimental series without time-consuming solvent purification after each experiment. A new expression for the reaction rate constant at infinite dilution is obtained. Furthermore, a kinetic description of aqueous potassium hydroxide and aqueous sodium hydroxide solutions in the temperature range between 20 and 50 degreesC is proposed.
