Hydrogen electrosorption in Pd-Pt alloys
Hydrogen electrosorption has been investigated in limited volume (LV) Pd-Pt alloy electrodes. The amount of absorbed hydrogen decreases with increasing Pt content in the bulk of the alloy, but does not change with the Pt content oil the alloy surface. A change in the rate of the hydrogen absorption reaction occurs at a potential close to the reversible hydrogen potential. This effect can probably be related to the existence of the overpotentially adsorbed hydrogen on the surface of the electrode.
