The study is focused on the styrene-butadiene-styrene copolymer(SBS)for application of shoe-sole manufacturing. SBS/Clay nanocomposites were prepared by melt mixing after Clay was modified with dimethyl dihydrogenated-tallow amine and methyl tallow bis (2-hydroxy-ethyl) amine, respectively. Intercalated/Exfoliated nanocomposites were obtained by the addition of organoclay and mechanical properties were then investigated. We found that the addition of small amount of organoclay was erough to improve mechanical properties without sharply increasing hardness.
