Separation of Benzene/Cyclohexane Mixtures by Crosslinked Copolyimide Membranes
Crosslinked copolyimide membranes containing both sulfonyl group(-SO2) and trifluoromethyl group(-CF3), which have high affinity for benzene, were prepared and the pervaporation properties of these membranes were investigated for the separation of benzene/cyclohexane mixtures. Crosslinked copolyimide membranes were obtained by a polycondensation of 6FDA with DDBT and DABA and a crosslinking with ethylene glycol. Sorption and pervaoration experiments were performed at 323K, 333K and 351K. It has been found, that all the crosslinked copolyimide membranes show high separation performances and good chemical and thermal stability.
