The Properties of MgO-TiO2 Composite Oxide in the Aspects of Synthesis and Catalytic Applications
The deactivation of catalyst in the DIR-MCFC was reported to be improved by the substitutionof alternative supports like MgO-TiO2 composite oxides. In this research, it was tried to investigate the synthesis and characteristics of the oxides. To form MgTiO3 crystallite(geikielite) was more feasible than Mg2TiO4 crystallite(qandilite)as both calcination temperature and Ti content increased. In order to prepare more qnadilite, it was beneficial to use magnesium acetate as a precursor with higher content than stoichiometry. The catalysts which had the Mg/Ti ratio in the region of 3 ~ 7, showed the best resistance to lithium. In the higher region of Mg content, the catalysts were easily deactivated like pure MgO.
