Analysis on Efficiency of Desulfurization and Denitrification in Pulsed Corona Discharge Process
In this study, we analyzed the removal efficiencies of SOx and NOx by the pulsed corona discharge process and investigated the effect of several process variables. The NO removal efficiencies and the SO2 removal efficiencies were measured and analyzed as the function of initial concentrations of NO, H2O, and NH3, SO2, applied voltage, pulse frequency and residence time. As the frequency of applied voltage increases, or as the applied voltage increases or as the residence time increases, the NO, SO2 removal efficiency increases. The NO, SO2 removal efficiency increases by the addition of O2 or H2O, or by using the large diameter of the discharge electrode. The experimental results can be used as a basis to design the pulsed corona discharge process to remove NOx, SOx and VOCs.
