Vapour pressures at 10 different temperatures between 278.15 and 323.15 K for binary mixtures of 1-bromobutane with ethanol or 1-hexanol
Vapour pressures of 1-bromobutane + ethanol, or + 1-hexanol at 10 different temperatures between 278.15 and 323.15 K were measured by a static method. The reduction of the vapour pressures to obtain activity coefficients and excess molar Gibbs energies was carried out by fitting the vapour pressure data to the Wilson equation according to Barker's method. For 1-bromobutane + ethanol, azeotropic mixtures with a minimum boiling temperature were observed over the whole temperature range. G(E), H-E and V-E, at 298.15 K, are compared with predictions of the ERAS-model. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
