Synthesis of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/silica colloidal nanocomposites
The synthesis of colloidally stable nanocomposites comprising poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and a 20 nm diameter silica sol is described for the first time. Raspberry-shaped PEDOT-silica nanocomposites of submicrometer dimensions were obtained, with silica contents ranging from 19% to 80% by mass and with electrical conductivities as high as 0.2 S cm(-1).
