Stimulation technology for horizontal completions without cemented casing
Many horizontal wells drilled in low-to moderate-permeability formations are completed either openhole or with a noncemented liner in the horizontal section. To achieve significant long-term production improvement in these wells, conventional proppant-laden fracturing treatments, water fractures, and fracture acidizing require control of fracture placement along the horizontal section. Few proven technologies exist to control fracture placement in noncemented wellbores. The full-length paper contains two case histories.
