A polypyrrole (PPy)/polyimide (PI) composite was prepared electrochemically in order to improve the mechanical and electrochemical properties of PPy. The electrochemical behavior of the composite was studied by potential step amperometry. The composites were found to possess increased charge storage ability in comparison to pure PPy. It was found that the doping of PPy by PI is responsible for the increased charge storage ability of the composite. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
