It is very important and essential to predict CHF (Critical Heat Flux) accurately and easily under almost all the fluid properties and operating conditions in order to design and operate the heat transfer equipments like steam generators and other heat exchange apparatus safely and effectively. Predictionof CHF in tubes with non-uniform heat flux is a natural extension to the models of CHF in tubes with uniform heat flux. In this study, we investigated the possibility of predicting CHF in non-uniformly heated vertical round tubes based on the local condition hypothesis. In addition, we reconfirmed that CHF is strictly a local phenomenon, not a non-local phenomena.
