Catalytic performance of reduced La2-xSrxNiO4 perovskite-like oxides for CO2 reforming of CH4
A series of Ni/La2O3 catalysts from La2-xSrxNiO4-lambda precursors was prepared and tested in carbon dioxide reforming with methane reaction. Catalysts were characterized by using XRD, TPR, SEM, TPSRCO2 methods. The catalytic performance and coke deposition were investigated. It was found that Ni/La2O3 catalysts obtained via reduction of La2-xSrxNiO4-lambda (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5) solids show promising catalytic properties in CO2 reforming of methane. Although the small amount of strontium in the catalysts slightly decreases their catalytic activity, it improves the stability (time on stream) of the catalysts. Carbon deposits in the shape of filamentous whiskers, formed on the catalysts during the reforming process, show relatively high reactivity towards CO2. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
