n-d-M Methods of structural and group analysis of many products front crude oils and coals are critically examined. Equations are proposed for the structural group analysis of heavy crude oil resid and brown coal hydrogenates. It is shown that the structural group compositions of the products calculated with these equations are in agreement with the empirical equations for their molecules and homologous series.
