Economic analysis of wind-powered desalination in the south of Morocco
A comparative study is presented in terms of levelized water costs for three towns in the south of Morocco using two desalination processes: reverse osmosis and vapour compression. Energy needs are delivered by two electricity sources: grid and wind energy. Therefore, four combinations of electric energy sources-desalination processes are considered in the cost evaluation of the water desalination. Also an economic analysis of the influences of the main parameters on the levelized cost of water produced are presented.
