Observation of hysteretic bistability in [(CoCp2)-Cp-III](+)[(FeI4)-I-IIl](-)
[(CoCp2)-Cp-III]+[Fe(III)l(4)](-) (Cp = cyclopentadienyl) prepared by the double oxidation of Fel(2) and CoCp2 with iodine exhibits a 30 degreesC thermal hysteresis in magnetic susceptibility between 134 and 164 K that is attributed to a phase transition to a disordered triclinic unit cell from an ordered monoclinic unit cell upon cooling.
