The impact of fluid dynamics on the regeneration of automotive fiber coil filters II. Direct and indirect interactions
As shown by experiments and simulation calculations, the direct and indirect interactions between fluid dynamics and the regeneration reaction both have a significant, but quite different impact on the regeneration behavior. While the outlet temperature is mainly governed by the indirect interactions, i.e. the soot distribution, the temperature inside the filter is mainly controlled by the direct interactions, i.e. the changing fluid properties, Furthermore, the impact of winding structure on the regeneration behavior is investigated by a simulation study: too, demonstrating that for practical applications filters with composite windings are the recommended choice.
