'Barrier effect' or artifact? A critical assessment of the dynamic stationarized method for k(L)a measurement
Analysis of the data measured by the dynamic stationarized method shows that this method significantly undervalues measured data even on measurement at low k(L)a values such as 0.06 s(-1), the value common in industry fermenters. It was shown that the maxima revealed by this method in the dependence of kLa on electrolyte (Na2SO4) concentration and on surface tension of aliphatic alcohol solutions are not real phenomena but only the result of error in the measurement of k(L)a.
