In various areas of chemical industry a lot of product and process data of different types is collected. In the majority of cases this data has only been evaluated fragmentarily and not systematically in terms of the information contained. Following the acquisition oand possible short term visualization it ends up in regular data graveyards, there is a great potential for an improvement of proudct quality, process control and plant safety, as well as for a reduction of inspection costs in the compilation and systematic analysis of this data.
