Early-production systems in ultradeep water
Because offshore developments in ultradeep water require large investments, their profitability should be assessed as thoroughly as possible before sanctioning. One way to reduce reservoir risks is by USE Of early-production systems (EPS's) to reduce time to first oil and provide a better knowledge of the reservoir after 1 or 2 years of production. The full-length paper reviews existing shallow and deepwater EPS designs, describes the main EPS technical and economic drivers, and proposes an innovative EPS that offers new possibilities to enhance well production tests and reservoir monitoring.
