Study of a H-2 separating membrane reactor for methane steam reforming at conditions relevant for power processes with CO2 capture
We present a one dimensional, steady state model for a catalytic membrane reactor used for methane steam reforming. We have solved the model for conditions that could be relevant for integration of the reactor in a power process with CO2 capture. The model behaved as expected when several important system parameters were varied. The results show that the operating conditions for the membrane reactor will have a great impact on the design of the power process. It is therefore crucial to understand the behavior of the membrane reactor if one wants to integrate it in a power process with CO2 capture. The best choice of operating conditions must be found through consideration of the whole power process. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
