Hydraulic fracturing for sand control in screenless completions is successful, predominantly in oil wells, whereas frac-packing is preferred for high-rate gas wells in highly permeable reservoirs. Saudi Aramco is developing a large gas field by use of many new deep wells. The full-length paper details the results of a performance-driven process, which achieved sand-and solids-free gas production.
