Flow restrictions in tubulars caused by solids deposits are serious oilfield problems. Most solutions involve use of aromatic solvents for asphaltenes and chemicals or heating for paraffins. This study seeks to minimize solids deposits by altering fluid flow characteristics. Application of the principles of fluid and heat flows is the essence of the approach described.
