A study of densities and volumetric properties of binary mixtures containing nitrobenzene at T = (293.15 to 353.15) K
The densities of binary mixtures formed by nitrobenzene with benzene, or toluene, or ethylbenzene, or styrene, or o-xylene, or m-xylene, or p-xylene + nitrobenzene were measured in the temperature range of (293.15 to 353.15) K and ambient pressure using a vibrating-tube densimeter. The excess molar volumes V-m(E), partial molar volumes and excess partial molar volumes of two components calculated from the density data provide the temperature dependence. The V-m(E) results were correlated using the fourth-order Redlich-Kister equation, with the maximum likelihood principle being applied for the determination of the adjustable parameters. M in these systems studied increase with rising temperature. It was found that the V-m(E) (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
