Energetics and bonding of the Pt(111)(3x3)-Ag,I surface compound
The cohesive energy of the electrodeposited surface compound Pt(1 1 1)(3 x 3)-Ag,I is determined by combining experimental results from electrochemical, contact angle and thermal desorption measurements. The value is compared with a simple bonding model and used to rationalize aspects of the observed structure. (C) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
