A choice of optimal surface modifier of carbon electrodes for mercury determination by stripping voltammetry
The conditions of mercury nucleation on modified carbon electrodes were studied. The phenomenon of so-called "critical detection concentration" was explored. The dependences of the critical detection concentration on the electrolysis potential for some metals modifiers were obtained. These data can be later used for development of new highly sensitive voltammetric techniques concerned to phase formation on the surface of solid electrodes. (C) 2005 Elsevier B.V.
