Structural, dielectric and electrical properties of Ca modified BaSn0.15Ti0.85O3 Ceramics
Polycrystalline samples of (Ba1-xCax)(Sn0.15Ti0.85)O-3 (x = 0, 0.03, 0.06 and 0.09) of perovskite structural family have been prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. Preliminary room temperature X-ray study confirmed the formation of single-phase compound with tetragonal structure. The Scanning electron microscope shows the uniform distribution of the grains throughout the surface of the samples. Dielectric studies as a function of frequency at different temperature suggests that the compounds undergo diffuse phase transition (DPT). The d.c. and a.c. conductivities have been investigated over a wide range of temperature and the activation energy was calculated.(c) 2005 Springer Science + Business Media, Inc.
