Reactive Distillation Dynamic Simulation
A generalized model for the dynamic simulation of reactive multicomponent separation systems is presented here. The model allows the solution of many problems such as conventional and batch reactive distillation, simple and complex reaction and permits rigorous unsteady or unstable state column studies, e.g., startup and shutdown operations and abnormal hydraulic behaviour. Efficient and robust numerical methods are used to obtain reliable solutions even for difficult operations. The present work is an extension of the previous model developed by Gani et al.(1) and Cameron et al.(2) Several simulation results are presented to show the software capabilities.
