Appropriate Placement of Energors Against Local Pinch Temperatures
Thermodynamic analysis of energors, i.e. energy accepters (endothermal reactors, evaporators, boilers, etc.) and donors (exothermal reactors, heat pumps, compressors, etc.), which are inappropriately placed against the pinch temperature, as well as their energy integration into the overall process are presented. Until now composite curves of all streams were used for the integration of inappropriately placed energors in energy abundant processes. The problem of the appropriate placement of energy accepters and energy donors into the process has now been solved by the extended grand composite curves. The procedure has been tested on an existing chemical. process. This approach is suitable in conceptual stage and it yields good initial designs.
