The method uses the temperature-enthalpy diagram (TED) to examine current network schemes. It gives an opportunity to highlight the schemes with good prospects. Therefore, the number of schemes considered is reduced. The solution is approximate but it is very close to the exact one. The solutions of all problems solved so far were not worse than solutions obtained by other methods, and sometimes they were better. Examples are given in the paper.
