Ganoderic acid produced from submerged culture of Ganoderma lucidum induces cell cycle arrest and cytotoxicity in human hepatoma cell line BEL7402
Ganoderic acid (GA), produced by submerged culture of Ganoderma lucidum, at 500 mu g/ml, caused nearly a 70% inhibition of the growth of human hepatoma cell line BEL7402 but not of a normal human liver cell line L02. Flow cytometry analyses showed that GA blocked the BEL7402 cell cycle at the transition from G(1) to S phase.
