Discriminating Between Size-Enlargement Mechanisms
In this article it is demonstrated how to discriminate between size-enlargement mechanisms in crystallization. Theory is developed and simulations performed to show that discrimination is possible. The analysis of experimental results for the potassium sulphate/water system in a batch crystallizer and the potash alum/water system in a continuous crystallizer, shows that growth rate dispersion and aggregation are active in both systems.
