Vapor-liquid critical properties of squalane measured by the pulse-heating technique
The critical temperature and pressure of squalane (2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyltetracosane) have been measured using the pulse-heating method. Residence times are from 0.03 to 1 ms. The experimental critical properties are compared with the results of measurement by a flow method, computer-simulation data, and the values calculated by the group-contribution methods. The critical temperature of squalane is about 2.5% lower and the critical pressure is 10% higher than those of its linear isomer-n-triacontane. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
