Investigations and Modeling of Slurry Bubble-Columns
A two-dimensional pseudo-two-phase fluid dynamic model with included k-epsilon turbulence model has been developed for modelling slurry bubble column reactors. The model discussed allows to be studied the mutual influence of fluid dynamics and chemical reaction in a slurry bubble column. It is possible to calculate in detail the local fluid dynamic properties as well as the local concentrations of all chemical species that take part in the reaction. New correlations for calculating the interaction forces between the suspension phase and the gas phase will be proposed. The whole model is based on experimentally obtained information about reactive multiphase flows.
