Modeling of Turbulent Micromixing for 2 Independent Variables
The coalescence-dispersion (CID) models for turbulent micromixing are considered. The analysis of Kosaly and Givi (1987) of C/D models is extended for more than one independent variables of stochastic field in turbulent flow. Discrete schemes for some micromixing models are suggested and analysed for two variables. The influence of chemical reaction of the type A + B --> products on the micromixing rate is analysed for a wide range of Damkohler numbers Da which represents the ratio of the rate of chemical reaction to the rate of micromixing. Analysis of some closure approximations which are used for calculation of average chemical reaction rates (Toor (1969), Patterson (1981)) was carried out on the basis of CID models of micromixing.
