Excess volumes, densities, speeds of sound and viscosities for the binary systems of diisopropyl ether with hydrocarbons at 303.15 K
Experimental results of excess volumes, speeds of sound and viscosities at 303.15 K are presented for the binary systems of diisopropyl ether with hexane, heptane, octane, isooctane, benzene, cyclohexane, tetralin and decalin over the entire range of composition. Isentropic compressibilities are calculated from speed of sound and density data. Speeds of sound are evaluated on the basis of Jacobson free length theory and Schaaffs collision factor theory. Further, the viscosity data was analysed on the basis of corresponding states approach and Grunberg and Nissan treatment. The experimental results are discussed in terms of molecular interactions between unlike molecules. (C) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
