Modelling catalytic reaction-absorption coupling process of ethylene oxide synthesis in slurry reactor
Models of the catalytic reaction-absorption coupling process of ethylene oxide synthesis are established in the slurry reactor under pressure with fine particles of the silver catalyst and a high boiling point solvent absorbing ethylene oxide selectively. The selectivity of ethylene oxide in the slurry bed is higher than that in the gas-solid catalytic fixed bed, as the whole reactor is kept isothermally and the internal diffusion within the catalyst particle is eliminated. The simulated results are in good agreement with experimental data.
