An integrated pervaporation-biodegradation process of phenolic wastewater treatment
An integrated process of industrial wastewater treatment that consists of a separation zone and a biodegradation zone was proposed. Both zones are connected by a stream of pollutant received from wastewater using the pervaporation process. Phenol was received to vacuum or to air stream and next was directed to a bioreactor where the strain of Rhodococcus erythropolis was responsible for its degradation. Deep wastewater purification by both manners of permeate receiving was observed and full pollutant biodegradation in the bioreactor was reached.
