Intercalation of iodic acid into the layered uranyl iodate, UO2(IO3)(2)(H2O)
The direct intercalation of iodic acid into the layered uranyl iodate, UO2(IO3)(2)(H2O), has been observed to yield UO2(IO3)(2)(H2O)center dot 2HIO(3) in crystalline form. This is the first example of this type of reaction with iodic acid.
