Highly enantioselective ring opening of epoxides catalyzed by Heterobimetallic Schiff-Bases containing transition metal atoms
An enantioselective ring opening of racemic terminal epoxides has been achieved by using heterobimetallic cobalt salen complexes with variety of nucleophiles (such as: H2O, Phenols, and CO2 etc.) to produce valuable chiral building blocks in enantio-riched forms. The newly synthesized heterobimetallic chiral Co (salen) complexes exhibited excellent enantioselectivity up to>99%ee in good yields.
