The high-purity purification of indole from indole fraction recovered by extraction-distillation of coal tar fraction was examined by re-crystallization operation. From the purification efficiency (purity, yield etc.) of indole, n-hexane se등 새 be the best solvent. The effect of operation factors on purifying indole was investigated by the batch re-crystallization using an indole fraction (indole distillate) as a feed and n-hexane as an re-crystallization solvent. According as increase the operation temperature and the volume ration of solvent to feed, the purity of indole increased, but yields of indole was looked tendency that decrease some. Re-crystallization method using n-hexane as a solvent was excellent because purity 99.5% indole recovered as much as yield 50% without washing operation.
