Determination of reaction rates via the discharge-flow chemiluminescence imaging technique: gas-phase reactions of O(P-3) with CFClCXY (X,Y = H,F,Cl)
The rate coefficients between the ground-state oxygen atom, O(P-3), with CFClCXY (X,Y =H,F,Cl) have been determined by employing the chemiluminescence (CL) imaging technique coupled with the discharge-flow method. Concentration profiles of O(P-3) in the reaction tube were extracted from the two-dimensional NO, CL images of the entire reaction zone monitored by a charge-coupled device camera. The rate coefficients at room temperature of O(P-3) with CH2CH2, CFClCF2, CFClCH2, CFClCFCl, CFClCHCl, and CFClCCl2 have been determined to be (7.38 +/- 0.22), (5.04 +/- 0.14), (4.43 +/- 0.10), (2.67 +/- 0.07), (1.57 +/- 0.02), and (1.36 +/- 0.02) X 10-(13) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1), respectively.
