Photoinduced ultrafast dynamics in Ag(NH3)(n) clusters
The lifetimes of Ag(NH3)(n), clusters excited at 475 nm to the first excited electronic state decrease from about 25 ps for n = 2 to about 1 ps for n = 3 but vary only slightly between 400 and 800 fs for n greater than or equal to 4. By changing the conditions for cluster formation a particular cluster distribution has been found which is characterized by missing of certain cluster sizes and by a pronounced Ag(NH3)(6) isomer signal with a lifetime larger than 1 ns.
