Near infrared laser spectroscopy of FeC
The laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectrum of FeC in the near infrared region between 720-830 rim has been recorded and analyzed. Twelve electronic transitions have been observed. Transition from the X(3)Delta (1) level was obtained for the first time, which allows the estimation of the spin-orbit coupling constant of the ground state. The spin-orbit separation between the X(3)Delta (2) and the X(3)Delta (3) states was measured to be 329.809 cm(-1). Hot band transitions from upsilon = I level of X(3)Delta state have also been observed, and the vibrational separation, DeltaG(1/2), of the X-3(3 Delta) state was measured to be 852.14 cm(-1).
