Dynamic dipole polarizabilities of the confined hydrogen atom
The Schrodinger equation for a ground state hydrogen atom confined at the center of an impenetrable cavity is solved exactly. Static and dynamic dipole polarizabilities are calculated using variational perturbation theory. The variational perturbation method is shown to be quite stable even far into the anomalous dispersion region. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
