Raman spectra of the symmetric stretching nu(1) (A(1)) mode of anion SO42- in crystalline Li2SO4 are treasured. The effect of strong electric fields is investigated. Correlation functions of the vibrational relaxation and the effective inertia moment of reoriented particles are calculated. On the basis of an analysis of the correlation functions the separation of homogeneous and inhomogeneous contributions into a width of the isotropic component nu(1) (A(1)) is performed.
