Position dependence of the coupling strength in the Lindblad model of dissipation
A formalism is presented which allows to taylor Lindblad operators for open quantum system density matrix theory to produce any desired position dependent coupling strength. Special attention is given to the case, where the coupling strength does not diverge for large distances, as happens in the bilinear coupling model. The method is applied to several common problems and shown to give physically sensible results. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
