A C-13 solid-state NMR study of cryptophane-E : chloromethane inclusion complexes
In this Letter, we demonstrate the use of separated local-field NMR spectroscopy under magic-angle spinning conditions as a means of studying molecular reorientation in solid inclusion compounds. Site-resolved H-1-C-13 dipolar couplings were estimated in complexes between cryptophane-E and chloromethanes. We show that the mobilities of encaged guests in the solid state and of guests inside the host cavity in the isotropic liquid solution are very similar. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
