The permanent electric dipole moments of ruthenium monocarbide in the (3)Pi and (3) Delta states
Stark shifts in the (0,0) bands of the [12.7] (3)Pi(2)-[0.1] (3)Delta(3) and [13.9] (3)Pi(1)-[0.9] (3)Delta(2) systems of (RuC)-Ru-102 were analyzed to produce the magnitude of the permanent electric dipole moments, \mu\, for RuC in the [0.1] (3)Delta(3), [0.9] (3)Delta(3), [12.7] (3)Pi(2), and [13.9] (3)Pi(1) states of 1.95(2), 1.86(2), 3.58(3) and 3.44(3) D, respectively. A comparison is made with ab initio predictions for RuC, and with experimental results for isovalent FeC and with RuN. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
