Chemical reaction of negative particles (p)over-bar, K-, and mu(-) molecular ions
Rearrangement processes of the exotic system, X- + H-2(+) --> X(-)p + H, where X- = (p) over bar (antiproton), K- (negative kaon), and mu(-) (negative muon), can be treated as a familiar type of chemical reaction, i.e., collisions on a single Born-Oppenheirner potential energy surface. The cross-section for this reaction and the state distribution of the formed exotic atoms X(-)p are calculated by the classical trajectory Monte Carlo method. The reaction dynamics is investigated by comparison with the X- + H and H-2 systems. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
