Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy of NiS
In this Letter, the laser-induced florescence excitation spectrum of NiS in the range of 495-555 nm has been observed for first time. The NiS molecular was produced in a supersonic free jet expansion by reacting dc discharge-sputtering nickel atoms with Cs-2. A [17.4] (3)Sigma(0)(-)-X(3)Sigma(0)(-) band system involving six vibrational bands with the transition from v" = 0 to v' = 2-7 has been identified and analyzed. Through rovibrational analysis, the molecule constants of the [17.4] (3)Sigma(0)(-) and X(3)Sigma(0)(-) state for (NiS)-Ni-58 and (NiS)-Ni-60 have been determined first time.
